Considered one of the most popular travel destinations on the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is a quiet and welcoming town that sits atop a promontory that offers incredible views of the Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Salerno.
While this rugged coastline is usually associated with seaside villages,
Ravello’s unique location, perched on the mountains, offers a different atmosphere and exceptional views! The heart of the city is Piazza Duomo, surrounded by cafes and with a terrace overlooking the nearby town of Scala across the valley: a quiet, elegant and familiar environment at the same time.
If you are on the Amalfi Coast, you cannot leave without visiting Vietri sul Mare, the capital of ceramics. Its historic center is a magical place where ceramic plays a leading role. The main street, Corso Umberto I, can be a good starting point for your tour: it crosses the whole town including the two viewpoints that will offer you wonderful views.
Plates, vases and various decorative objects in bright colors, handmade by local artisans with passion and dedication, are perfect souvenirs: the ceramic donkey is one of the symbols of Vietri ceramics, in fact in the past this animal was indispensable for moving around narrow streets of the Amalfi Coast or to carry objects.
Another stop is dedicated to Minori, another beautiful town on the Amalfi Coast, less known than some of its beautiful neighbors such as Positano or Amalfi itself, but equally charming and welcoming.
It is a small town and has a lovely historic center, wonderful scenery, and a “typically Italian” atmosphere,
The town of Minori is perfect for visitors interested in seeing a slightly less visited location on the Amalfi Coast without giving up the beautiful views and facilities tourism for which this area is famous. When we say Minori we also often speak of Maiori, a town that offers something slightly different from the typical image of the Amalfi Coast.
Its immense promenade and its beach have distinguished it as a popular tourist destination since Roman times.
However, while many towns and villages in the area are characterized by steep cliffs and hidden corners in bays and coves, Maiori beach is much easier to reach.
