ITINERARY:

Your tour begins in Naples, after disembarking your ship you will be transferred to the jetfoil terminal for a 55-minute ride to Capri.

Upon your arrival in the city of Capri, you can shop the exclusive boutiques and shops of the rich and famous or visit the Gardens of Augustus. This lush garden setting is situated atop a sheer cliff and provides a striking vantage point where you can take in the dramatic views of the turquoise sea below and the Faraglioni stacks, three rock pinnacles formed over time by erosion from the wind and sea. Return to the marina by funicular and travel by watercraft back to the mainland, to the charming village of Sorrento overlooking the Bay of Naples and offering breathtaking views.

In Sorrento, you’ll enjoy a free lunch where the local people use a local product, followed by free time for a photo opportunity and a stroll down to Corso Italia is Sorrento’s flower-lined main boulevard, here you’ll find local shops, designer boutiques and cafés.

After lunch, board your coach for the transfer to Pompeii, ruins.
Upon your arrival, you’ll have an opportunity to stop at a cameo factory where artisans apply skills handed down for generations, intricately carving seashell or coral into beautiful jewelry-true works of art and beautiful keepsake souvenirs.
Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you’ll discover the archeological excavations of a lost city buried deep beneath the ash when Mt. Vesuvius violently erupted in 79 AD.
It was a monumental natural disaster that killed thousands and entombed the city under ash.
Explore the grounds on this 90-minute guided tour of the excavated city as your guide talks about the remarkably preserved remains that hint at daily life-their customs, buildings and cuisine; how they entertained, decorated and lived.
The eruption of Vesuvius preserved a moment in time more than 2,000 years ago, so that we may learn about the lives of the ancient Romans.
Pompeii before the eruption was known as a vacation community for high society. It had a forum, amphitheater, gymnasium, shops and an aqueduct that delivered water for irrigation, fountains and private baths. Some of the ruins are remarkably preserved with elaborately detailed mosaics and colorful frescoes decorating the interiors of wealthy homeowners’ villas.

Your tour comes to an end back in Salerno after a 30-minute drive where your ship is docked and awaiting your return.

Tour order may be reversed but all sites will be visited.
